I've occasionally browsed this forum in the past, but finally took the time to register and thought I'd introduce myself before posting away elsewhere.

I own a '67 Impala that I bought in 2000 and was a high school project I did with my father. Currently, the car has a nice running 396, turbo 400, 12 bolt with 3.73s and a factory posi unit rebuilt with aggressive clutches and springs. Motor is strong, but not wild... car trapped 102-103 over five passes on a hot night with a poor tune in 2004.

Front end is a basic rebuild with rubber bushings, rear is stock replacement shocks and springs with poly bushings. Front has SSBC disc brakes.

The car has spent the majority of the past seven years sitting, and has only been back running and driving since 11/3. Since then I've freshened up the carb and fuel system and done a once over on the ignition system. Car has shockingly few issues after sitting for so long.

My plans for the car aren't really wild compared to some of the big cars here. Short term I'm going to scrap the SSBC disc conversion and go to C3 Corvette discs all the way around and swap to a hydroboost booster. I'm also intending to add firmer springs, modern shocks, and a rear sway bar. Not really a full on pro touring build, but I want to make the car amore fun, safer driver. Better brakes and upgraded three point belts from Billy at Morris Classic Concepts are at the top of the list.

I'm here to learn and have fun. Seems like a great website.
