Congratulations to all who competed. Look forward to the show in the spring so I can see and drool.

Question: The people listed that only got points for the road rally chose not to compete in the performance portion? Why take the invite and not see it through.

Great job, hands down the coolest corvette I have ever seen, amazing story behind it also.

I've started watching and autoxing against this car in 1978, it's always been a top performer in it's class... it's awesome to know Brian and Steve have won such a prestigious event after countless Championships in our local Nor Cal autox region.

They only pay points down to a certain level and the cars that show as no points did compete. Just like a F1 race earning any points is a honor. Also interesting to note the cars that win in the design challenge don't have what it takes on the track to earn points.

Also some cars had mechanical issues in the Road Rally and weren't able to compete...

Not completely true. We had a simple fuel pump issue plague us the day of the competition. Our hotlap it ran great enough to earn points, but it sort of fell flat on it's face after that. This was the first time the car was ever on a track, and the painter drove it. I'd say with a few more hours on the track we'll do just fine.

Not going to get into who had what it takes on the track. However, in the spirit of the event. Only those vehicles that complete all driving events should be eligble for the Design Challenge.

There are many factors that have to come together for a car/driver combo to be competitive, a large percentage of the car aficionados don't know this and assume they are the best driver ever and their car is just perfect the way they built it. It takes alot of seat time for a driver to learn how to drive competitively, very few people are fast at their first autox, or even in the first or second year, and then it takes nearly as much time to sort and balance the suspension on a car. There are many cars that are beautifully built and designed, but they need to be tested on the track with a competitive driver that knows how to set it up, you can't be afraid to get it dirty or scratched up if you want to win at the track.

^ I agree Jesus. This year's winner Brian is running leafs and stamped a-arms. Upgrades did include sbc engine, wheels, tires, brakes and shocks.

Driver mod made the car, although the car was a beaut!

is there a tire width limit? I mean the 34 ford and that corvette are running insanely wide tires...

Just wondering

I see 375 is about the max width you can buy... maybe 395

those guys are running max street tire.. like 375... I just wasn't sure if there was any rules about max width.

I saw the LT1 won the autocross was running 375's in the back. Now if I could someone making a 450 street tire :)

I believe they both run Falkens, and the biggest they make are 315s...
