Just wanted to introduce myself, My name is Tommy, I'm from the Baton Rouge Louisiana area. I just picked up 72 Camaro a few weeks ago that is currently set up as a drag car, I'm planning on converting it to more of a pro street or pro touring car. It has a really straight body and decent paint at the moment, The interior is what I'm going to start on first after I get my blower motor dropped in it and running. I have a 700 hp 468 big block with a 671 Bds Blower. The motor was in my Jeep with 9" of lift and 44" tires, I couldn't play with it much with that much power without slinging the driveshaft and u joints out from under it. I can't wait to drop it in the Camaro, It has small block towers in the car now so I need to order some big block mounts and springs. I have been wanting a 71-73 Camaro for a long time now and finally got my hands on one. I'm a gearhead and have always enjoyed muscle cars and hot rods and have owned a few in my time but this is my 1st 2nd gen Camaro. I have been reading a lot of post and I really like this site so far, Looks like there's a lot of friendly and helpful members on here with a lot of useful info on the 2nd gens. My Camaro has a aluminum dash and a roll cage in it that I will be concentrating on getting looking better and a little more on the custom side. I would much rather it have a factory dash in it and put some nice gauges and interior in it, but from looking at some of the pictures in the interior section on the forum I have some good ideas of what to do now. I'm looking forward to being a member and getting to know some of you. If anyone has any suggestions or pictures of some custom aluminum dashes and consoles please feel free to post pics. I would love to see them.

The body is really straight and the paint is in decent shape with some chips and small scratches here and there. The hood is really tall, didn't really like it at first but it is growing on me. I just hope my 671 blower with the scoop fits under it. I have plans to buy a 2" cowl hood also and cut a hole in it for nice days to show off the blower a little.

454 bored to a 468 with 671 Bds Blower and 400 turbo tranny, right at 700 hp. That should lift the front tires a little I think.

Welcome! Cool project.

If you follow this link, you'll find a cool second-gen Camaro and a pretty cool aftermarket dash:

Factory dashboards are also nice.

Good luck,

Thanks for the link. That's awesome, I have actually seen pictures of it online before and saved the pictures. I am going to do something like that probably, I have a good friend that builds custom aluminum boats, I will sow the pics to him and see what we can come up with.

Still have some things to finish up but it runs and drives now , just ordered some new front and rear suspension parts to get it setup the way I want it. It's coming along slowly.
