I am to the point I need to purchase the springs for my Vari-Shocks. The van is going to be all cadi-wompas with the full frame, big block AND engine set-back. I really don't know where to start. If I need to borrow some scales I can try to do that.
Can you give me some guidelines for rates?
Thanks
Mark

Mark:
I can't believe no one has responded. Ridetech has a spring calculator, if you have front and rear weight, unsprung mass and motion ratio.

They have a link to download an Excel spreadsheet, but it isn't working. So, I'm not sure what they are calculating. They are probably figuring the natural frequency since they give you several options. I have some info on natural frequency if you would like it (just can't find it at the moment). Their calculator should get you in the ballpark.

Thanks Larry,
I guess the Astro is just to dare to be different... There is NO benchmark for this build as it is the only one. I have looked at the ridetech calculator but I need to get the front/rear/ weights before I, or anyone else, can work up the numbers. Just something else to put on the list...

Find someone that is into circle track racing. Those guys usually have nice scales.

I wonder if asking for help during SEMA week was ill-fated from the beginning? :-)

Yea, didn't think of that, good call Steve.
I'll do some asking around about scales. Or I could do the bathroom scale with a 4x4 trick to get an approximation... I'll have to have the van sitting on all four though and it's not there yet.
