Hi,
I'm building a Black on Black pro-touring '77 Trans Am. LS2 engine out of an '06 GTO. The car has been tubbed out to accommodate some wide wheels (12''). I've been scouring the internet to try and find some nice, modern looking 18'' or 19'' x 12'' 's but with no luck. I'm a big fan of TSW and am looking for styles similar to their's, preferably a 5 spoke design in black. The only place I've seen something close to what I'm looking for is Forgeline, but their prices are quite out of my range.
Anyone have any ideas or products/ companies they can recommend?

If Forgelines are out of your price range (or any 3 piece wheel for that matter) then you options are limited if you want to run a 12" wide wheel. You'll either have to get a set of vette wheels or have some cheaper wheels cut and widened.

Weldcraft wheel in Lavonia, MI can widen most wheels. Not the cheapest but do fantastic work and much cheaper than Forgelines. I had then do the XXR wheels on my Monte. Zero runout and 1/4 oz to balance.

RAMC is currently building me a black on black 78 Trans Am with 20x12's and 18x9's. Im going with these by USW. They are very reasonable https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2013/11/Extravagant_black-1.jpeg (http://s626.photobucket.com/user/jkremer1/media/Extravagant_black.jpeg.html)

How much approx to widen a set of wheels. Say go from a 8 inch wide wheel to 10 inches

Price depends on hoop size and width added. I paid around $450 for the pair to add 2" to my 18x10 XXR'S. They cost $125 each new. This was the cheapest option for a 12" wide wheel I could find.

I sent mine to Vaughn Machine in Cali, went from 18x10 to 18x12 and it was $660 with shipping for both. He makes wheels as a business and uses billet blanks to do the widening. Its funny the length us tight a$$es will go to save a buck lol.

I'm looking for something rather ornate, I've looked everywhere for something similar to this but with no luck. I contacted Weldcraft and got a quote. My only concern with them is the need to have to get them repainted afterwords to cover the weld lines...anyway, this is the TSW I was looking at.

Weld craft did a set of year one 17" snowflakes for me. Took them to 17x12's. Awesome work. I simply cleaned up the back sides and cleared them . Awesome job

Have you looked at Billet Specialties? They are less than Forgeline and have some cool powder coat options?

I had a set of CCWs built for my 81, but I would still consider $800 a piece kinda pricey (still cheaper than HRE, Forgeline, DPE, etc). However, if you are looking for 5 spoke design, I am a big fan of the new Weld RTS rims. I had a set made for my 2000 Formula. You can get polished or black anodized (diamond cut) and the have 3 pad clearances variations for the pitch of the spoke. The caps have quite a bit of clearance as well. Wheels are light and strong, roughly $450 per, which is a bargain as you know what custom wheels can go for. Just some thoughts, good luck.

Thanks for the Howehot. Yes it might be a bit of money but cheap considering I would probably have only $900 into my rims when done. The wheels I have are discontinued so if I want a wider wheel it is my only option.

Thanks for the advice guys. Lately I've been eyeing a set of Forgestar CF5's or Ace Alloys wheels. Anyone have good/bad experiences with either of these brands?

I'm a big fan of Weldcraft. I've had them do two sets of wheels now.
