gas tank removal in a 1973 dart!!

How does the filler tube come out of the tank so I can drop the tank. There seems to be a rubber seal at the tank but I cannot get that out or get the filler tube to slip out of the seal!! Thanks

thats cause its like 3 feet long and hermetically sealed to the steel tube after time.

Use lube (WD40) and a scribe or thin screw driver to work the lube into the seal. Then start working the tube back and forth.

I've found that spraying PB Blaster around tube and seal works well. It will slide out but may take take some convincing. Good luck

OK thanks. I got it out. I thought maybe it has a flare at the end or something but it did not. What a bitch!
