hey Folks, been on the site a while now, mostly just lurking in between working offshore and a 1yr old baby at the house. Lots of changes lately and in between projects, but to keep me busy until i get the next one i've been working on my wife's 2009 Pontiac Vibe.

A few months ago she got this little gem on her rear quarter panel. I can turn wrenches, swap transmissions and flush all fluids, but i dont know the FIRST THING about bodywork :/ Never done it before, always had folks to handle that sort of thing. These days though i'm on my own. So with all the expertise on this site, can anyone advise if i should give this a shot and repair it myself or leave it to the pros?? Cheers!

look at it this way, if you done i yourself you would probably have more money in tools to do the job compared to letting a reputable shop fix it , looks to me like it may need a small pull on the wheel well area, maybe 1 hour frame time and a few hours of bodywork to paint, i would think in the 950.00-1200.00 range depending on the shop you take it to, the door can be pulled with a stud gun and not have to be taken off to repaint, make sure the shop you take it to has a frame machine and they dont "bondo it up" , and make sure they take pictures during the process, Jim

Yea, the bad thing here is the tools,, between getting the tools/materials, you would have quite a bit of money invested.. If you plan do use this as a first project and do many afterwards,, then maybe it's worth it.. But I wouldn't say it is just to do one job.
