I'm new to the forum, as I stumbled across it looking at builds.
I picked up a 1989 Ford mustang notchback about a month ago wanting to build another power tour car. I did my first power tour in 2011. The truck I took wasn't the norm on the tour at all. 2001 Ford lightning, it was custom in and out. I put more miles on it that week than it normally would see in a year. The truck spent most of its life being trailered from show to show, and only driven locally.
The mustang is a rust free car with only through the floor sub frame connectors. It has a 5.3 ls swap, 78 mm turbo, and a built 4l60. The car is mostly complete inside and out. It needs some interior trim, out side door handles, weather strip and moldings.
The car has been set up to drag race/ street race. Its a great sleeper. Everything fits under the stock hood. Looks like a typical 12s car. At 9psi it put down 500 to the rear tires.
Ive started to order parts. I will update some pictures this weekend, most of the progress will take part around christmas. Its a slow time for us at work. The complete project will take 3 years. Focusing on suspension, driveabilty, and function before june.
Racecraft, ride tech, mickey thompson, bonspeed, bfg, team Z, dts, 5.0 resto..to just name a few.
