Im looking to upgrade my front calipers. I have the c6z front calipers and rotors and would like to upgrade to wilwood or baer. I just cant find a caliper to that will work with the stock rotors. I will upgrade the rotors to some more cost effective DBA rotors dowmn the road. Any info will help

Those Z06 calipers not performing well?

I have not had any issues. I just want to have a set of calipers that are easier to change pads at the track and also will take more heat. Im looking at doing some 10/10th events next year and want something a little more geared for the track. Plus with me going to a rival 315 tire on the front I will have more heat. I wish these would fit behind my VWW v-40s on the nova

Stock Z06 calipers with 1 piece pads and good rotors, work VERY well. Bunch of guys had that set up. Or you trying to keep up with me? LOL

Guilty lol. I have heard two things about them on hard track use. They work very well and if they get hot enough the pins back out. I have only found a couple cases of this but I would like to be hard on them and not worry.

Not sure if I can but If I do pull the trigger on this I will mount the front calipers on the rear...

Recently there were a set of stoptechs on ebay. Not sure what rotor you have to use.

You should definitely upgrade the rears also. So i can buy them. LOL. Let me know when you do.

haha you will be the first to know. The fronts set me back a few bucks. Let me know when you get the calipers

Sounds like Tobin can add a lot of info to this discussion, I recently purchased Z06 pads and rotors from him for my newly acquired 09 z06.

Here's a great read on the strengths and weaknesses of the factory Corvette stuff:

John, that link does a pretty good job of covering the differences, thanks for sharing. The author's assessment of pillar vane rotors seemed a bit more subjective than objective, but he is ultimately hoping to sell his aftermarket AP Racing kits to the guys who can afford them, so not entirely unexpected. I would only add that pillar vanes are not inherently better or worse than directional vane rotors with respect to NVH, cooling efficiency, etc, they're just different. Instead of pushing more air through the rotors at a higher mass flow rate but with a lower delta T (outlet temp - inlet temp), pillar vane rotors tend to pump less air through the rotors with a more turbulent flow path, and thus a higher resulting delta T. DBA 4/5000-Series rotors have been touted on the Corvette forums for years as one of the better budget friendly rotor options on the market and they're all pillar vane design (Kangaroo Paw), and they show comparable performance on the dynos and the track to directional vane castings.
