So after a couple years of looking for a classic, upping my budget and aiming for something i really wanted instead of settling, I finalized the negotiations for a '66 Chevelle.

The car is an almost complete frame off restoration/running project.
It comes with a freshly built 327 roller rockers, 882 heads, T-5 5 speed, HEI ignition-- all of which are going to be taken out immediately for a 6.0 ls2 swap (this will be my daily driver)
It comes with all the safety and conveniences that i was looking for; p/s, 4 wheel discs, all new suspension & new front end steering components, and some nice large sway bars front and rear

The restoration includes new body bushings, frame was blasted and professionally sprayed w/ POR 15., all body work professionally done w/2k urethane primer. All wheel well openings sealed and undercoated as well as full belly-pan from lower firewall to rear panel. Has a smoothed firewall and the whole car is ready to paint.

It also has brand new stainless brake lines and new stainless gas lines from tank to carb.

Freshly painted 15" rally's with tires... which hopefully will be swapped as soon as budget permits.

Interior has bmw buckets and the interior is in ok condition but isn't all black. so that will be next up on the chopping block.

Pretty excited and as soon as i get some progress i'll start a build thread

woops, here is a pic:

something that helped me a lot was using search tempest instead of craigslist. and also doing searches like this: Chevelle (66|1966|67|1967) that will search an not exclude if someone put; for instance 66 instead of 1966. it also lets you search for multiple years in a single search.
then for the price set the lowest price to 0 and then cap it at your budget and search in the title only. that will get you the best results.

Well... turns out i didnt get the car. @#$! after excuse after excuse (he was going to deliver the car), he had the flu two weekends ago, then he couldn't make it out last weekend. i got an email from him today saying he was out test driving it and it got rear ended. Thank god I hadn't sent the deposit yet.... I wanted everything in writing before i sent the deposit... and he's been dragging his feet. This all stinks to high heaven.

anyone selling a chevelle w/o an engine/trans?? :/

That Sucks the Guy played Games - I wouldn't be surprised if his Story of the Rear-Ending was BS

Bummer man, sorry to hear you didn't get the car.
If the 'seller' was acting sketchy it could have had additional title issues, etc.
Keep on the hunt!
