Hi All,
I'm so tired of watching everyone enjoy racing and driving their cars while I still plug away at my '67 Camaro. I've got some real Heath challenges that are slowing my progress down so today I decided to take a different route so I can take my time on my build and still get out there and have some fun.
Life is short so I'm not waiting any longer. Say hello to my new 2014 ZL1 Camaro that I pick up on Thursday.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty stoked to bring it home and do some driving. I've got until Spring to get familiar with it before the new season of auto cross starts. Might even do some track days as I get comfortable with it. I now feel no stress to get my '67 done and on the road so I can enjoy the journey more now to finish it.

Thanks, it's a new colour for 2014 and you can have any colour interior you want as long as it's black. There are vertically no 2014's around here and a lot of cars that have been brought up from the US into Canada. Same car but getting any warranty work on an imported car can be a real PITA.
Now to get some others rims and different tires before it gets cold here as this is going to be my DD.

For sure and now that I have a car to drive can I come out and meet some of the locals and maybe a few races?
Racing the wife's Nissan at the local Autocross this year was, well, uneventful and slow.

Thanks J, I really appreciate it and treatments have been successful so I'm hoping for a full recovery. My TCI equipped Camaro will get done but I'm just going to go take the time and have some fun in the mean time. This is a new chapter and I'm looking forward to doing some racing so when my '67 is done my driving should be a little bit sharper. And on the bright side the weight loss means I should be a bit faster now :ssst:

Thanks all for the Congrats and well wishes and I picked up my car today and drove it home. I'm in awe of how well it rides and how mannerly it behaves for what it is. Truly a marvel of engineering and my hats off to the folks who designed it and that fine group of Canadians who built this car, job well done!
I will post some more pics over the next few days.

Congrats on the new Camaro. I drove the wheels off a 2014 SS recently and was impressed with it --- your ZL1 will be a hundred times better than that one.
Enjoy!!! :-)

I'm working in one of my Midas stores in Richmond this Saturday for a tire sale we have on. Stop on by and say Hi, we have coffee and donuts and tires on sale.
Just in case anyone was thinking of getting one they really are awesome. Not that I got it for the gas mileage but it is worth noting that at only 300km on it for break in, its already getting slightly better mileage that the Honda Ridgeline I traded in so I'm saving money. I may spend that in tires at the racetrack with it in the spring, because I bought it to drive not look at it in my driveway. Tire smoking pictures to come when and if it dries out .

I've had the car a week and a half now and I love it more than I could have imagined. It's comfortable and has great manners for daily street use. But, I did learn a little lesson on a wet rainy morning and that is these Goodyear F1 Supercar tires and 580hp and rain don't mix. I saved it but not before going side to side using the entire road 3 times and had my heart somewhere in my throat. I wasn't even hot doggin it, just passing an old persons doing 20mph and I was doing about 35 when I punched it to get around them and then proceeded to use up the whole road for a while to straighten it out. No damage but I was so sideways there was grass on my rear license plate from spinning and power sliding sideways. Lesson learned :scared:
Ordered my new tires today to drive on until Spring arrives.
Now for some new pictures.

Todd, I agree life can be short, so enjoy it. As for a classic car , it has a different appeal even for those who have multiple nice new toys, So I think you'll still have interest in the 67' .
New Camaro's have a very good reliability record, so no sense not driving one daily. If you don't get your use out of it, what's the point.

Looks awesome Todd. Hope to meet you and the ZL1 at autocross next spring. I've probably seen your Nissan. I'm usually out with my black 2002 SS although this past year I took most of the year off as I just had a baby boy.

Congrats on your baby Mike. We will definitely see you out next year as I plan on doing a whole lot of Autocross and some track days at Mission Raceway.
Jlcustoms, you are right and my desire to build the '67 is still strong, I just don't feel rushed and I can enjoy the ZL daily and take my time.
Thanks to all for the well wishes as it's been a tough year and I've kept quiet about my Chemotherapy and just did the best I could working on the '67. It's been going way slow but Ive been working on it when I'm having a good week. I went back to work 8 weeks into treatment and haven't stopped since but it has definitely set me on my ass as far as productivity goes. I've managed to complete half my mini-tub on the '67 but I'm enjoying my ZL1 every day. Highly recommend the new Camaros to everyone and the 1LE is an awesome set up as well. Doesn't need to be supercharged to enjoy one everyday.

Congratulations!!! Love the color.
I picked up a 1LE in June to hold me over till I could finish my 69.
good choice i had a 2012 ZL1 now i own a CTSV, great cars but still they dont have the added character and craziness of a wild over the top custom build. I wish my CTSV was a manual gearbox and wasnt so refined at times.
i almost went out and traded my CTSV for another ZL1 or the Boss 302 but i held off because my car is practically finished and just in the working out bugs stage now.
i think if anyone here can afford to buy a new muscle car to hold them over during a build it really helps keep the sanity trust me on that. good luck with it.

I agree that a fun late model car can help you get through a build. I am really enjoying my G8 GT and it is giving me some patience to do the quality of build on my Firebird that I really want to do.

So glad the big 3 have stepped their game up so much in the past few years. Even more excited they are selling the high performance models almost as fast as they can make them. Congrats on the gorgeous car. I love that color!

Agree with all the above and yes the big three have definitely stepped up. This is a great time with all the cars coming out of Sema that are just incredible. One of these days I'm going to make it to Sema as it seems to be the site for the all of us car lovers to make a pilgrimage to see the end all of all car builds.

Nice score!
A friend of mine has a 2013 ZL-1. He was nice enough to let me hit our local road course with it. That big girl can dance! You will not be disappointed! Very stable, awesome power, and brakes for days!

Last night got my confirmation for a drivers training being held by the local BMW club on a wet skid pad for next weekend. I finally am going to be able to go open up this beast and try some four wheel drifting and see what all these PTM modes can do. Will try and get some pictures and video to post for next week. Also, have the week off so back onto the '67 to finish up the mini-tubbing and start the rears suspension install.
What a great week this is going to be.
