18x9 with 265 tire with a little rub on the subframe at full lock.

Are you running this setup?

Check out the 48 Hour Camaro built by RideTech. I think they are running 18x10 front wheels with a stock subframe and Ridetech control arms.

Yes.... the car in my sig pic.

Thr Ride tech 48 hour Camaro is running 18x10 but with fender well modifications. The wheel had to get pushed out to clear.

I am the same boat, trying to figure this out too. I have talked to a couple do wheel companies and the guys at global west. All have the same answer: 18x8 with a 235 or 245 at the most with that stock front clip. I am hoping to go wider too. Appreciate all of those out there with other experiences.

Unless you are running half height body bushings the fender modification is minimal.

If you want to run a 275 front on the stock sub the truTurn is the answer (and your geometry improves, so it's a win-win).

17x9.5 , 275-40-17 on my car with the tru-turn, if you want to run big tires it will require work, there's no free lunch, thats the facts, you can run a 8" rim with 255-40-17 tires with the correct back space and no inner fenderwell mod, but fact is the factory inner fender sucks and was made for a 6 inch wide 15inch tall rim used on the Z28 car

Rod,
I suspect the reason you feel like the inner fenders are a problem might be because your wheels look to be spaced much further outboard than what mine are. In point of fact, I am currently running 18x10 275's up front with a DSE subframe. I did zero mods to the stock front inner fenders to get them to fit and I have not had the front tires rub even once in 5000+ miles. I also disagree with the DSE chart above which indicates a maximum of 18x9 wheel under a 67-68. I know for a fact that the 18x10 275 works with the 68/DSE combination.

yep there pushed out as far as possible, next set(next year) will be 18X11 or 12 with mini tubs and stretched fenders front and rear, it will be a little crazy

I have been considering streached front fenders like those James had built for the One Lap Camaro. Very subtle but effective. I would like to run a 18x11 305 or 315 up front but the current fenders are the limiting factor at this point. My problem is that I am not a body man and I know of no one remotely close to me capable of that kind of work.

I dont understand that dse chart. yes I can read it LOL but I have a stock frame on my sec gen ( yes not a early first gen ) but Im running the size tire they say to use with their sub frame on a stock frame and no inner fender mods and no rubbing hmmmmm
