I got to meet David Vizard today if you guy have never herd of him you probably have read one of his tech articles or own one of his books. He is the head of the engine team her at UNC Charlotte that I am joining to learn everything that I can about engines from this man. I road with him to a shop to drop of a crank to get balanced for the drag car team and learned more about engines and cylinder heads in 45 minutes ride in the truck than I have learned else ware. I real know nothing about engines so I think this will be a grate opportunity to learn a lot.

Here is link to his Bio at the Collegehttp://www.coe.uncc.edu/college/vizard.htm

The name does seem to ring a bell ;)

Here is one of the many stories written by David for PHR.. the guy has forgotten more about engines and theory than I know..

I wish he'd update all his great books that were done in the early 90's.

Steve - another reason I love PHR!

Brian,

That is so cool! I've read Vizard's stuff for years. His most recent article about valve springs and hydraulic lifters convinced me to forego mechanical lifters on II Much's lifters.

David is very humble I didn’t even know he was author until some one else told me. When I got home I did a little Internet research and found out just how many books and articles he has published.

I look forward to having the experience to work with him. I also think by the end of my senior year I should be able to build a really nice engine for my car. This guy is hilarious, very witty you are usually laughing the entire time you are in his presence.

I am trying to figure out how to get on the crew that is going to PRI. I think I am also going to try and be a driver not for any of the racecars but the truck and trailer. They don’t want train anyone. I believe I am qualified do to the fact that I have my own 24 foot enclosed that I have been trailering for over five years now. This is a grate program here and is really growing fast. I am glad I got in befog it gets to big

Wow, I'm fairly close to Charlotte. Makes me almost want to go back to school, just to take a class with Vizard!
If you're getting to actually take classes with him, take good notes!!
