Do you have a proposal? I never decline reviewing them. Unlike some companies it will not get 86'ed in the trash can. I would be interested in possibly sponsoring 2 more full ride's.

Make sure your proposal is top notch! Some of the people you are competing with even have Powerpoint presentations with video clips of there car! These don't neccesarily win my approval though. I choose the one's that are most interested in marketing our "Yes, fine product" in the same direction we are moving. For instance we are tackling the Corvette market huge right now we are in every Corvette mag and we are also paid sponsors on www.digitalcorvettes.com (http://www.digitalcorvettes.com) and www.corvetteforum.com (http://www.corvetteforum.com)

Send your propasal via PM or mailto:[email protected] ([email protected])

Thanks

Many thanks again Laramie, it's been great working with you so far!

Rumor has it that including a rendering with a proposal usually puts you ahead of the game. I was told several times last year while building my Chevelle that the renderings were the first things they looked for. :dunno:

does the car have to be completed, or in its project stage?

Nope..It will have to meet deadlines though accordingly, that will fit our plans. [ For example Franks car that Wilwood ended up sponsoring brakes for is not quite finished but he could give dates as to when it would be.]

Laramie,

I already have a brake set-up on my car currently(Baer's 12inch rotors all around with 2 pistons up front singles in the rear). I'm kind of curious towards how specific your sponsorship deal is. Reason for being curious is because my car isn't a show car, its being built for an awesome working track car but still being able to drive it to school. Solo II events are held during the summer years and I will be attending them. Very good coverage even at the regular events. Come nationals, its packed.

I look forward to hearing your response :)

A little bit out there, but what about a 1993 RX7 with a 400hp+ SMOG LEGAL LS1 swap?

Smog is becoming a HUGE deal in CA and Im looking to be a legal 10 second, 1+ lateral G and could be 1+ G deceleration too.

Should be easy to get magazine coverage.

:ripped: WTH :dunno:
I have spent a week at Prodigy, not to mention all my money, and now this.
I guess the GTO didn't deserve sponsorship, after all it isn't a camaro!
It's just those drum brakes are really going to hurt that Protour image.
Oh yeah, Kris renderings did not help me with a brake sponsorship yet. Do you know anyone I can call?

J/K I knew about this earlier in the week and think it is great. Everyone needs to know though that with sponsorship comes obligations. You are expected to produce a car, on time and display it at key events. Sponsorship helps the cost issue, but it is not free and don't expect a free ride.

Thats why I had to ask about the terms of their sponsorship. I could show my car all I want, but it'd look better at track events rippin up the track. Theres 2 crowds out there. Ones that know what their looking at, and ones that buy stuff because they like the look, color, price, whatever. I think the ideal sponsorship car is one that is daily driven, track car, and goes to local car shows. Hey! thats me :rolleyes5 :seizure: Mind you, a car show every year that brings in 750 cars isn't that big, is it? On average it grows by 50-75 cars a year.

Now you tell us! LOL. I'm sure you have read the remarks here on this forum concerning poor customer service at Bear Brakes. I'm just a rookie compared to some of these other guys. I whish I had known more about your brake company before I ordered mine from Baer.

All I ask is for a fair price, meaning competitive if we are talking apples to apples. However, I request excellent customer service. It took them three different overnight shipments send out to me to complete the order properly. The first one being that they claimed they sent my spindles. A asked them to check the weight on the boxes. Oops, there coming your way.

My point here is customer service goes a long way.

I feel better now. :) R.P.

Laramie,
Thanks for the repply, I'll get to work on a proposal. What time frame are we looking at as far as picking the rides you will sponsor. I have some great ideas and would like to know how much time I have to work with.

Thanks,
Rob

If your car would not be ready in Spring of 2006 then we might want to revisit you next year. We are looking for a deadline no later than Mar/April of 06'

Well put...

Another thing..outside of sponsoring a complete brake kit, we have another fella by the name of "Mr. Parker" now available. This caliper is specifically designed to help solve the rear E-Brake issue. Alot of guys here may be up against this very problem..Nice Brake upgrade but NO Parking Brake. We have the solution. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
We produce this caliper in-house (This is not a Wilwood caliper)

I would possibly Sponsor a few of these to get the coverage out there as well.

Nope. I've done everything myself in my dad's shop or my garage, but I've bought everything used at $.50 on the dollar or cheaper. It looks like I am going to get some help on a fuel setup though, as the stock LS1 pump isnt really good for 500+hp.

I've only had the car running for a month or two now, and its a stock LS1 as she sits, but I have heads/cam/nitrous in my garage waiting for her.

I do however, have a lot of pull with the rx7/v8 community, as a lot of people come to me looking for help with smog legal swaps (I've had 5 people want me to build them cars).

Smog is definately a tough deal hear in Ca, so GREAT job getting it to pass the test/referees. I bet my 68 firebird blows cleaner than the two stroke rotory that came out of the RX7 though ;)

If your car would not be ready in Spring of 2006 then we might want to revisit you next year. We are looking for a deadline no later than Mar/April of 06'

Here is how you get a sponsor..

A. Be professional.. the small the track record you have the more professional you have to be. Foose does not have to beg for sponsorship but you do..

B. Have a plan and make it realistic. That included some artwork of the final car and a full list of proposed parts. Pics of the car in process show that there is a car. Best thing would a be website that is update regularly to show progress. It is also a bonus for the supplier since they can track the car and it gives them a warm and fuzzy feeling.

C. Be mature and remember that this is a partnership with responsibilities on both sides. The supplier is making an investment in YOU and YOUR car. They are assuming all the risk and as such you should try to keep that in mind.

I can't tell how often suppliers are screwed over because they give parts and the guy either never finishes the car, never shows the car, changes the plan of the car a lot or worse yet sells the car right when done and in effect making money off the supplier without giving anything back to that supplier.

This is a business, not a charity and if you keep that in mind it really helps.

Hmmm.. Penny should be done around Feb/March.. lol..
