I am having a hard time finding long tube headers for my 390 Z Code Galaxie XL.
I keep seeing footnotes that say "not for convertibles".
Anyone know what is up with that?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated? I would prefer coated headers.
Thanks,
_Lance

OK. Found out that the Convertible has a different frame then the other full size fords.
Anybody got any suggestions?

Only suggestion would be to get a set for the hardtop and see how they fit or if they could be modified to fit. I would get the uncoated ones if you may be cutting them up and then get them coated when all the work to them is done. If I recall correctly the frame differences would be from approximately the firewall back so the interference would probably be somewhere around the header collector area so may not be real difficult.

I will give it a shot. Got nothing to loose at this point.
Thanks.

Check with Crites Restorations in Ohio. They may have a set that would fit.

I have ceramic coated shorties for my 65 convertible. I think Sanderson(I'll have to check if your interested) I'm very happy with them. for me it wasn't worth having the collector hang down which was what I saw with all of the long tube headers out there (crites I think)

Do the Ford cast iron headers that came with Interceptor motors fit convertibles? They appear to be great, if not heavy, headers.
