Just in the finishing stages of my 66 mustang.

Heidts front and rear
2000 LS1 4l60e
1998 Mustsng 8.8 diff
18 inch rims 225-45-18 tires

Had the car out for a few shake down runs and am pretty happy with the results overall. My one issue is the car on rough roads is crazy, it will literally shake the wheel out of your hands. Is this the norm for these type suspensions. Im thinking a different spring rate?? My chevelle dosent do that at all with a full Hotchkis Suspension. Any other ideas.

What spring rate?
What shocks?
What is your alignment
How much wheel and shock travel before hitting the bumpstops?

All the parts are from Heidts.

500 fronts
300 rears

Not sure of the alignment, took it in and had a 4 wheel done.
Approx 3 inches of travel

You would really need to get corner weights to dial it in. - But, On my wife's '65 cpe, whick has coil overs on all fours, we run 425 fts, and 200 rrs. soft compression and then tune with rebound. Her car with A/C and full interion wieghs in at 2920 total.

Can you tell if the problem is more in the front or in the rear?

I'm going to say its both front and back. I talked to the guys at Heidts and they said that the springs i have are there standard they put in there package. He said to drive it for 500 miles and see if things soften up. I still think the rates are to high for 100% street use. Guess ill just drive the crap out of it and see.
