I just got my car back from having the Speedhut gauges installed. They all work but the fuel guage has a short in it. It always reads full except one time I put the emergency brake down and it went to the correct half tank. Scary right?
So part of the setup is daisy chained with a harness from speed hut pretty nice and straight forward. The sending unit wires are going to separate spade connectors. Also my turn signals in the gauge are not working and I'm guessing brake lights maybe out too. Plus the over all condition of the wiring is pretty bad in there. Eventually I want to do a AWW kit but I'd like to wait until I have all the extras in the car.
So I have nice Klien crimpers and am going to do the non insulated butt connectors with shrink sleeves. But for the gauges I'd like to do a big connector so it easy to get in and out. I'm confused by a the choices and was thinking about doing this kit from Jegs.

It seems a little over kill but I have extra stuff if I needed it. Got to get this figured out because right now the turn signals and brake lights are keeping me from driving the car. I'd like to drive it on any sunny day in oct and nov then really do something about the rats nest behind the gauge panel and under the dash this winter.
Anyone else have advice for a connector like this for a newbie?????
I've avoided electrical stuff in the past other than stereo and single component stuff but with this car and the aftermarket door poppers, gauges and windows I think I'm going to have to learn.
Thanks,
Bobby
