We have a 55 chevy 2dr post car, that over the summer went from being a "Gasser" to a pro-touring/Autocross car,Right now the car is set up big block/4speed
I'm looking for advice on witch way to move forward,I'd love to go LSX 6speed but Budget is a Big Factor!!! I'm leaning towards a 6.0 lt truck motor/tranny swap I know I need to stiffen up the frame but not sure how I was thinking ride tech 4 link w/coil overs and their front strong arms???
The car has been mini tubed and explorier rear ready to go ,We decited to put the money in the suspension rather then Paint ,So the plan is lowered on 17 or 18??? tires Flat Black AutoCrossing 55 any Advice would be very Helpful
Thanks

I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread..I have a 56 street car i have been thinking about taking to the next level..I know it would be easier to do my 68 camaro , or one of my chevelles because there is already drop in kits out there....Nothing cool ever came easy though...good luck..

Thanks,I'll get more pictures in about two week, chevelle goes in the trailer the 55 come out,With keeping the wife happy and a budget in mind I believe we are going "old school'' keeping the 402big block w/4speed ,my brother in law Drag raced and ran the streets in the 70s so we have some neat old stuff to add to the look like the old FOOT gas pedal, sun gauges, wood steering wheel 64 corvair buckets that have all be in storage Thanks

I replaced a fuel injected big block with a LSx engine and never regretted that move. I would sell off the BBC and find any sort of LSx variant that you can afford. Even a 5.3L can be built up fairly well and can be found with an aluminum block. Mate that to our transmission of choice. If cost is a factor, keep the 4 speed for now.
