Friend of mine is building a 67 camaro with .030" over 454/6-speed.
He's looking to get wheels and tires, stock rear half, not tubbed, shocks not moved inboard; stock location. He's looking to get 17's, but not sure how wide and what rear spacing would fit best. I think he's looking for a 255-275 rear tire, and I'm guessing an 8" or 9" wide wheel for the rear. would also need suggestions for the front, too.

I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that have something similar. I did a search, but really didn't come up with much.

thanks.

i'm in the same boat with the 68 i just bought. I dont want to minitub it, too many hassles getting it registered here then. I found somewhere on here the max width you can get under the rears is a 9.5" rim. I plan on running a 18x8 up front, and an 18x9.5 out back, a wheel made by simmons.

I have 17x8 wheels on my 67 with a 245/45 in the fromt and 255/45 on the rear. I have no tire rub issues at all. I think you can step up to a 9.5 inch wheel in the rear and run a 275//40/17.
