Well i picked up someone else project to make my own. 1967 Camaro RS with a 5.3L motor and a t56 6spd trans.
I picked this RS up for a fairly good price I think. Most of the car is there lots of new parts came with the car and lots of parts did not.
I bought this car with very little knowledge of what I would have to do or where to start. I own my own Subaru Shop so this is way past what i have been doing over the last 7 years. I really wanted something new to drive and nothing past the 70's. So I had this great Idea sell my 500 whp subaru and buy a camaro! So I did! Bought it in September of 2013 and the last page is current. I feel that I have made tons of progress over the past months. Doing most of all of the work my self. My friend Mike did the final body and Painting. I hope everyone can enjoys the car.

just about there man, where in oregon did you move to? i grew up in the portland area, but been everywhere. you'll love oregon.... epecially how much less your camaro will rust as compared to illinios... especially in the dry eastern oregon regions. but even in portland they don't use salt (no need) so it'll be a long while before you need any body work.
RS's are my favorite comaros
btw if you fill the empty gaps to the left and right of the hood latch assy you'll have a lot less heating issues to worry about.

Wow, very nice. I'm also in Oregon, nice to know there are other 1st gen Camaro builds going on around here.

I live in Hillsboro. but our shop is in NW portland. I also was happy about the no salt used around here, it was nice to know I can still drive it as much as i would like to and not have too worry about it rotting out.. The holes will be filled waiting for our plasma table to be made up so I can make a few things for it. I need to make a skid plate as well, the oil pan sits a little low.
The plan is to have it running and driving before summer is in full swing. My Kids love cars and car shows, so it would be nice to take them in it and enjoy with them.

Awesome, I'm not far away just down the road in Milwaukie area. For as wet as Oregon is cars fair pretty well here.
My car might a little longer than yours, still waiting on funding to get it out of body and paint which is the biggest expense. I look forward to watching your build.

I was lucky when I got mine most of the major body work was done. Then a friend of mine finished it all up and did the paint. I saved a pretty good amount there.

Also I am on the fence about the oem heater box. the heater core lines are pretty much on the back of the engine. What is a good setup to run? I don't care about A/C.

Finally did the first test start up. Had no spark at first figured the issue out rather easy. Finally made the coolant hoses. So close to drive just a few little things left!

Car looks sweet! Sometimes there's nothing better than a 1st gen RS without a front bumper. Wheels and stance look great too, and silver is always nice... which happens to be the color I'm doing my 67 RS in, so I'm a bit biased!
StandardRS

I think as far as color goes it was by far the hardest thing to do. I had it down to a certain white or this silver. I am very happy I went with this color. Coming from building Subaru street cars to race cars, I had not a clue about what I was about to get in to. But I would do it over again and again.

I'm in the process of starting a 68 ls build. Can you pls tell me what you used for the following.
Rad/fan set up
Harness and computer
And if you used a t56 from a 4th gen did you need to make any modification for the 1st gen tunnel.
Great build car looks great.

Hey Thanks .
Rad Fan setup is a PRC .set up" was with the car when I bought it, so I am unsure if this a normal rad from them or a custom one"
Harness and Computer is a PSI setup http://psiconversion.com/ " When you buy it , it will come with a tune for your set up as well. "
The t56 is from a 2002 Camaro ss i believe and no mods need to make it fit.
I used an american auto wire complete car harness as well.
The psi engine harness and ecu was a very simple install. I did end up cleaning the harness up to get rid of the extra slack i had in some of the connections.
