I have a '69 Camaro tilt column that need rebuilding. Would you take that as a core charge for one of your rebuilt columns or what is the typical cost to rebuild mine?

the 67-68 is 400.00 with a trade in non tilt, if yours is already tilt the price is different, a lot less

Mine in over the winter...1978 T/A tilt column...

Any recomendations of "push start" companies? Thank you

Hey Jim, I have a tilt column for a 70 that I'd use as a core for one of the later design ones we talked about before with the dimmer switch on the column. Do you have one ready to go there at the shop. I might have some time this weekend to get over that way. Need to shout at you guys anyway. Hope all's good on your side of the county!!

polished I guess since my steering wheel has the polished billet center. How many greenies ya want me to bring you? I'll try to give you a call this week. Hope to have this damned thing running ASAP so I can put a few miles on it before I try cruisin' the coast. Would rather it break at home than over there in traffic!!

make sure you have a big radiator ! you will need it over there in traffic, i think i may be going friday, gonna go to the dragstrip and get my fill of racing, not 100% sure yet, i will be painting all the columns and parts this week, so you can most likley have it this weekend, give me a ring 382-7125, you must be bored now,,,,,,there are no hurricanes to hunt this year ,,,weird

How about a 68 Nova? Key is in the dash, dimmer in the floor, no factory tilt. Neither of the aftermarket companies would even consider trying to provide something other than a "universal"...

Jeff-

(BTW, we are coming down to Cruisin the Coast too! Our first time down there)

man,,, thats easy ! same price as the others 400.00 plus 30.00 shipping and choice of shiny or satin and stock or billet levers, plug and play column, no ther parts to buy, i can do one next set of columns, Jim

OK, here's an oddball request.

I have a non-tilt '68 Camaro core. Would like to have it converted (or outright buy) to tilt, dimmer on the turn signal lever, and key-on-column ignition lock (steering wheel locking.)

I drive the car a bunch on overnights and would like the extra security of a locking column and having the high-beam selection on the turn signal lever.

Thanks

sure, thats no problem at all, i was looking at your camaro page ( nice car !) and if you still have red paint leftover i will need about a pint of it , but i can build one, no issue, 400.00 plus 30.00 shipping, i have non tilt cores here to use, but i will need yours back after you get the column, that way your car is not sitting waiting for a tilt, thanks, Jim

Got my column from Jim yesterday and a great bonus along with it. Jim came over and spent a few hours to actually INSTALL this beautiful column in my 70 Camaro. Column looks amazing, feels nice and tight and adds another great feature to my interior with the procar seats that previous to the tilt, were a pita to get in and out of!! On top of that I got to spend a few hours with an old racing buddy!! Thanks SOOOO much Jim and really enjoyed catching up. Guys, he does a truly amazing job on these columns and will even build them to you custom specs!!

Got it running Jim but not good. I truly didn't get it to run right until I got on the computer with F.A.S.T. and Matt helped me verify that I had a bad TPs right out of the box. I replaced it with an AC Delco one, set the voltages, redid the tune and drove it about 150 miles. Headed to Biloxi with it tomorrow(on the trailer....:() for cruisin' the coast. Hope it acts right!! Took the rest of the week off!!

the column I got from Jim paid for itself during cruisin' the coast. I wouldn't have a right knee left from getting in and out of the seats if it's hadn't been for the column being out of the way!! Thanks again Jim!!

Yeah, that's how he did mine too. It's nice not accidently hitting the switch with my foot and lighting up oncoming traffic! A bump for you Jim

At RTTC it was funny to see some drivers flashing their brights off and on during the course. We saw that and laughed realizing they where riding the switch while driving.
