Hello everyone,
I am new to this site and decided to join because pro-touring is something I plan to try once my project is complete. I am building an '82 Buick Regal with some pretty nice aftermarket parts.
My website that I make updates to is:
www.HotRodRegal.com (http://www.HotRodRegal.com)
I have several forums that I am a member of and find it easier post all my photos to my website than all the forums. I am trying to show how I build the Regal up, and give some helpful tech data as I go through the build process. I hope the information and details I illustrate help fellow hot-rodders in their projects.
Glad to be a part of Pro-touring.com

great looking project. We just came out with radiators for them, and would love to build one down the road. only thing I never liked was the dash

RnD, I think we need to talk then ;) I am getting ready to start on the cooling system next! Just Fyi, I hated the dash also, --- thats why its going to be different :)
NO GO Nova, It has a TCI street-fighter 4L60e auto. I'm still acquiring major components to the build, but most of the suspension is complete. I had a pretty good write up on my site for the suspension, but starting with a Moser 9", hotchkis rear lowers, edelbrock adjustable uppers, energy suspension everywhere, Hotchkis' NEW product - A-body 2" drop springs, stock front lower a-arms, hotchkis b-body upper arms, g-body spindles, howe racing tall ball joints, and stock f-41 sway bars.

Nice project. What are you considering for your dash? I am brainstorming one for my car as well.

Cool!!! another Buick!!!! I like!!!!
I am certainly not going with a Regal dash.... there are other G-body dashes that look pretty good though.... I thought I seen somewhere a guy used a 3rd gen firebird dash in one, but I can't figure out how he did it... so that's not going to be a reality...
Dunno... havent really gotten that far yet... I'm just making this stuff as I go along really ;)
Something that may be helpful to others out there is my latest progress update... Custom Power Steering Hoses and Remote Reservoir installation... it will make you think differently anyway... I like to hide things as much as possible, but not to the point of bad user interface.... check it out if you get a chance.

I added another billet specialties part - radiator overflow tank. $$$ I had to have this just simply because it looked cool.
check out the link.

More fun stuff, I have recently modified the truck coil brackets and had them powder coated (little over the top - but cheaper than buying aftermarket ones). That one is up also, used a local guy "Gateway Powder Coating" that did great work. always good to know of good service providers!

I am really excited about a trip I have planned very soon! -Mast Motorsports- Going for a tour of their facility in Nacogdoches, TX where I get to help a friend build a top end on an LSX 440!!! dont worry I will take plenty of photos!

1st Mast Motorsports post is up now.

This trip was one of the coolest "car guy" experiences I have had to date. This will be a multi-post article due to the amount of material obtained. The Project LSX El Camino now has a wicked engine. More details in the following days.

Got a new product on the car. The latest post is about Taylor 9mm spark plug wires. The part number is 92045 and not a bad price on them.
The set I got were the first production set with the 135 degree plugs. These should work on all LS motors
http://hotrodregal.com/taylor-9mm-spark-plug-wires/
They work very well on a LS with headers

Ultimate Headers for the LS swap into the G-body
These are the best looking headers I have seen to date. Check out the prototype and 1st production set going into the HotRodRegal and LSX El Camino
Ultimate Headers can make headers for just about any combination of engine/car you need. If your looking for the best...these are it...

http://hotrodregal.com/flex-a-lite-fan-fits/
So its been awhile since my last update... sorry - gotta have time to actually work on things!!! [IMG]
this latest update is for making the Flex-a-lite 295 fit a non-Flex-a-lite radiator. I did not want to use the Flex-a-lite radiator for 2 reasons: 1. I already had the Be Cool radiator. 2. I don't want to clean between the mounting brackets on the Flex-a-lite radiator.
It is an easy install, and will might cool the engine pretty good since the dual electric fan moves 4600 cfm of air... and it looks pretty good too.
gunna have to check it out on the link if you wanna see the finished products (for both g-bodies - HotRodRegal and LSX El Camino)

Part 2 of the Exhaust for the Hot Rod Regal. Took the complete exhaust to have it ceramic coated to keep the heat down - and make it look cool

check out the videos I took of how they do it
pretty cool to see the ceramic coating in raw form and then come out polished.

Eaton Detroit Truetrac installation into the Nodular Iron Ford 9" third member.
This post has 3 "How To" videos that might help you decide if you want to tackle this upgrade.
Roy Teeter (co-owner of P.E.M. Racing in St. Clair, MO) assembled the third member and Truetrac. Highly recommended!

Well, I just installed the UMI Performance rear shock tower brace part #3055... I like it, it fit perfect, and it makes sense. In the LSX El Camino my friend Greg is building he has a completely different coil over shock set up and welded a cross bar to the frame where the shocks would normally mount and used his cross bar as the coil over upper mount point. I don't have that kind of room and my rear axle set up is not as custom as his... So, this UMI performance bar ties the frame together like his welded in coil over bar. I guess if a person really wanted to, they could weld this bar to the frame for additional rigidity - I won't be welding it though, simply because I like the bolt in application of this product.
This is really a no brainer for the the G-body... anything to stiffen the frame is good.

1st off, Thanks again to Larry Callahan for the Pro-touring dinner at SEMA 2015! another great dinner! (Not just because I won a door prize!!!!) Got to meet Greg & Jane Thurmond! AMAZING C2 vette!
Got and installed a couple items here that a lot of Pro-touring minded folks can appreciate - Ididit steering column and MOMO steering wheel! This is not a common install into a 78-88 G-body, but the idea can be transferred to any car that needs a new column or if you want to switch to a floor shift column.
(see install article here).
http://hotrodregal.com/ididit-universal-g-body-steering-column/
Hope this inspires someone to copy/use/modify these ideas and create a better feeling steering system.
