Hopefully this isn't really the "end" but darn... this happened at Watkins Glen during a recent SVRA event - word is a brake failure but I don't know it that is a fact.

My understanding is that this is the real deal.

Full credit to the photographer as indicated on the pictures. I couldn't find a link to the originals.

what about the driver? If he is ok well then he should be damn thankful and this makes me willing to spend extra money on safety equipment

Another one of the Penske cars was pranged at Sonoma a couple of years ago. It's running again, this one likely will as well.

More importantly, how are you James?

Ouch is right!....The Glen is fast. I know at our track (Mosport Park) press photographers are allowed to go in areas where general spectators are not.

I have raced the Glen on this weekend in the past running in Group 6 with all the big V8 cars when the weekend was called the "Zippo" for the lighter manufacturing company located there who was the title sponsor. I have actually raced against this car that was wrecked at numerous races.

The Glen has lot's of Armco and is narrow in some spots and wide in others. The article mentions this accident was in the "Boot". Can't tell from the pictures however IF the driver was doing about 120 MPH as stated in the article it must have happened going down the hill into the "Boot". As that would be the fastest part.

A driver died crashing into the Armco one year when I was there at the high speed entrance into the "Boot". Talk at the time was the driver had a heart attack as he drove full bore straight into the Armco with no indication of turning.

This is one sport were your hobby can be hazardous and even deadly!
