I have heard it said that it is not significantly harder to install a new rear clip then it is to install mini-tubs to stock frame rails? I guess the real question is will the extra work be worth the effort? The stock frame rails on a first gen Camaro appear to be able to take a fair amount of abuse.

I am currently running a 6-point cage that is properly tied into the chassis and rear subframe. The rear suspension will be upgraded to accommodate the intended using of the car which is: auto-X, road course, drag strip, and I would like to run some of the closed road events such as Run-n-Gun and perhaps One Lap (if I find the need to abuse myself). The car will be driven to all these events and will likely sport a trailer hitch. I will be running a 625hp 525tq naturally aspirated LS with a T56 and a 335/18 tire.

So at what point is it beneficial to run a rear subframe?
