Stopped in to check on things and Wayne was finishing up a completely reworked C5 front clip for the first Gen Camaros. This was the first, already slated for a customer, guess I'll have to get in line for mine! I don't know all of the details but he said they re-engineered it slightly and it works AWESOME!

I can see the gold QA1 sticker I think.

Very nice looking by the way Wayne!

Wayne's work is beautiful but how stout can that single tube be for engine support? I don't think I would want a torque monster attached to that.

Very nice looking stuff (as is usual from Wayne). I'd like to see how the engine/rack packaging works. C5 stuff normally wants the engine behind the rack. Those engine mounts look like the engine is over the rack.

I think Wayne checks out the board once in a while, otherwise I'll call him and see if he can give me some specs.

I know when we were talking he indicated that typically with the C5 the Engine needed to be set back because of rack location. However, with the re-engineered clip pictured he has solved that problem, but I can't for the life of me recall what he changed, if he said that is.

Just out of curiosity....the original post says that the photos are of the first front clip of this new configuration and that it "works awesome".

How are you able to determine that while the subframe is sitting on a workbench?

Not calling into question the quality of Wayne's work, but if something has yet to be installed and tested it might be a little early to make such claims.

The coilovers are QA-1. The rack has been lowered for the stock eng placement in a first gen. The motor mount tube is 1'' .156 wall DOM, same stuff used on upper control arms.
Sorry for the lack of info at this time. See all you guys at SEMA. I'll have more info then.
