I've got a 69 camaro with a killer paint job already on it. I just got my Bonspeed wheels in and I need to either trim the lip or roll it on the rear fender wheel wells. I was planning on trimming the inner lips about a 1/4' to 1/2". Has anyone done this already? And if so did you use tin snips or a nibbler or die grinder. I think there is too much metal to use the grinder and I am afraid of heating the metal up too much.
I am not to crazy about rolling the lip because I would cry if I screwed up the paint job. It's taken me way too long to get to this point.
Any help is appreciated.

i trimmed mine 1/4 since i hate that rolling look. I used a cut off wheel. Of course I didnt have a good paint job when I did it. I used tape and it didnt seem to really mess the paint up.

I to agree on the cutoff weel! Tape off a line use a couple layers of tape and take it nice and easy! You shouldn't have any trouble! what Bonspeeds did you buy and what size.

Did you guys use the Dremel or the compressed air cut-off tool?
I got the Bonspeed Clutch, 18x8 and 18x10. As soon as I get the wheels mounted I'll post some pics.

I used my makita to do the job. I did 2 pass's before I really started cutting threw. An air powered cutoff wheel would have been better in my opinion, since you can control it better on a tight job like that.

Did you guys just paint over the freshly cut metal? Anyone use any rust inhibitors or sealers? I know its not a big surface but the rust monster loves wheel wells as we all know.

I used some dp90 and then undercoating since that's what I had in my wheel wells
