Sick and tired of cheap jacks going out in less than a year when only used in a home shop on the weekends. Whats a good quality floor jack that works good and lasts. :hammer:

I was just thinking the same thing. I get about 2 years out of the typical Chinese floor jack. I would spend more for something that would last. I also need it to be a low profile.

After lots and lots of internet research last night I decided the Hein-Werner 2ton is what I want. If anyone else is interested the best price shipped to my door was $352.00 from this place. They have it in stock and shipping Friday

I've posted about these jacks before, I've used them in 3 shops I've worked for and really like them. I bought one a few years ago when they were on sale for just over $200

I bought one of those Hein-Werner 2 ton jacks. Happy with it so far. I found a slightly better price digging around with Google.
CostCo has a pretty good deal on a 2.5 ton jack. I bought one three weeks ago and used it this weekend to do oil and trans fluid change on my Duramax.

I have a Larin floor jack I bought from Advance Auto Parts nearly 20 years ago that I use regularly...it's been a great one for the $69 I paid for it. I have never seen them since or I'd buy another just to have two.

I have the bigger aluminum Harbor Freight jacks and have never had a problem with. I think they are around $200. I only use them for home use but Ive had them for 3 years now with no issues other then you bleed the air out of them before you first use them and then you are set.

My three (3) SEARS 2 ton heavy duty 23 inch lift floor jacks that I bought in the late 70's early 80's still work like a champ!
They were "Made In Japan"!

I use an ac delco jack. Get about 18 months before needing replaced. I run a tire shop, so it is used a lot

I sold a few omega jacks while in the snap on business, they where priced fair and seem to hold up pretty good.

I've had my HF aluminum 1.5 ton jack for 6 years and never had a problem.
My farther in law gave me his old Craftsman 3 ton jack that had a blown out cylinder.
I finally found the part # for the cylinder and its over 100 bucks online!
I am just going to get a 3 ton jack from HF as I need something more heavy duty to lift up my 2500 Duramax.
