Thought I'd post a little about my other projects.

Currently working on landscaping our front yard and the side hill along the street.

The design calls for about 120+ feet of retaining walls.

The fun part of this project is that hillside is pretty solid decomposed granite. if you hit it with a shovel, nothing happens. But a little impact breaks it up pretty well. I'm thinking a rental jack hammer will be the most effective way to address the issue.

Of course once the landscaping is complete, the wife wants the fence replaced at the top of the hill.

I haven't really done any landscaping yet, but I'm almost done remodeling the inside of my house, so I've been trying to get some ideas for outside. I'm interested to see what you do.

I'm also working on the inside of the house, so its a nice change to go outdoors. Although the weather sucks!

Bryce, we are in East County. Swing by any time...I have a 2nd shovel ;)

My wife lacks "vision". She was pissed when I brought home the project car. She saw one rusty fender and said bring it back. She can't picture any of the things I want to do for the house/car, etc.

Because of the $$ involved in this project, we hired a women that teaches a plant course at our local community college to draw up a plan. She took measurements of the property and creates a master plan. She'll group plants together with the same water requirements. She knows the growth heights, sun requirements, etc etc. I just have to dig holes and plant. She'll also bring in a crew of guys to do the job and she'll act like a project manager....but that's when you really start to see the money fly out of your pocket.

Just thought I'd post a pic of my progress.

If I had to rate my progress, I'm probably around 1/4 of the way done. Its a slow process to do by yourself.

I went to my local harbor freight and bought a rotary hammer drill. It really helps break up the digging and such.

So far I've dropped 2.5 pallets of block, 2 yards of gravel back fill, and 1 yard of class II base for the footers.

Needless to say...I haven't touch the car in over 2 months.

Two months?
But some time that what it takes to keep the car, is to make the wife happy!

I think you should take all of that stone back up and install bleachers.....

Then you could have spectators for the burnout competition up that hill.....LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!

Thought I'd post a picture of the latest.

The wife started to buy plants:

And I carved this set of stairs out of the side of the hill. Major pain in the butt.
