When working on any of my various projects, I usually am wearing gloves of some kind. For the last year or so I had been wearing medical Nitrile gloves. They were nice in that they kept my hands clean and sort of protected yet still giving me all the feel and dexterity of being bare-handed. Down sides are that they are not durable. They tear very easily when caught on anything at all. They provide no protection from heat and are impossible to get back on if your hands are even slightly sweaty. I honestly never liked the Mechanics style cloth gloves. Even tho they are relatively thin, you still lose way too much feel and I also believe that they wear out too quickly especially in the thumb and fore finger area where you are always gripping things.
A friend of mine works at a commercial bakery and brought me a pair of the gloves they use at work, I have to say that I love these things. They are a cloth material dipped into Nitrile. I have tried other similar gloves in the past and never was happy, these are completely different. They fit my hand very well and feel as if they are not there. I have used the same pair for about a month of heavy fabrication. They are not tattered and ready for the garbage but will be replaced with many more of the same thing. My hands never get hot wearing them for 10 hours at a time and they are easy to put back on. My hands do still get dirty some what but not too bad with this ruined pair. Now they will not really protect from very hot things, will catch sparking in the bare fabric areas and also melt so they are not a welding glove but just about anything else they are great. I have been watching those How It's Made Dream Car's show and have seen a lot of those high end car makes using the same style of glove.
Just wanted to share my thoughts on these, I am sure that there are others out there that will like them as well. They are Maxiflex gloves made by G-Tek. I have seen them for sale thru amazon and ebay for around $4 a pair or around $40 for 12 pair
