So my 69' camaro is getting painted dark grey and I still have time to decide if I want to go with Z28 stripes. Im debating because Im putting on a set of matte black wheels, black trim, black handles & bumpers. Will having black stripes be too much? I tried downloading carter's digital paintbooth to get an idea but my computer is too slow to run the program..any input?
Also If I keep it solid color Im going to keep my jakes streefighter spoiler thats matte black on the rear.

I'm kinda deciding whether to put stripes on mine or not too, it's just solid lemans blue.. it seems like every 69 camaro has z stripes so I'd say you'd probably stand out by not having them.. you could do a hockey stripe too or maybe something like the more subtle copo stripes

The answers (opinions ) for this could easily go either direction. I wouldn't stress too much over either direction if the rest of the work is top notch. The stripes I think add a more classic look, whether stock or modified. .I also don't think black stripes on a dark grey color scheme would be overpowering at all.
Though either way will be nice if your general paint & bodywork is done sufficiently, if you feel in the mood for stripes ,I say do em. If you're in the mood for more of a stealthy streetfighter(plainer) look ,then skip em or even go with a more subtle design such as the 2nd color only on the side profile of a cowl hood.
Just my thoughts, which direction do you feel in the mood for?

Well I think I decided to keep it solid with no stripes. It kills me because I just bought the car less then a year ago fully restored. The paint job is flawless and the previous owner spent $20k on the the paint job but I cant swallow the 2 tone any longer. I thought it would grow on me but I was never 100% happy from day one. I was going to sell the car and take a huge loss, So instead If I dump another $15K into the car i'll be where ill be happy and i'll still have a car in my garage. By the way, I'm going with granite crystal metallic from the new dodge challenger.

That's about the grey I was picturing. Black stripes on it would be a subdued effect & ok with or without. But the dark grey, Just like a deep black ,would look tougher monotone. Also if you just got a bad taste in your mouth from a 2 tone job that didn't work, you'll probably welcome the single color. I'll give you an example from my own ride .While the silver stripes against the gloss black added a certain classic look with the older front end, the monotone black hood (combined with different wheels , lower sheetmetal work, & later all black paint) give a much meaner look with the new combo.
