As title says, can the plug be installed backwards, as in 180* off? I'm getting the codes below, and start to think the trans does not get 12V power. I check the fuse for trans and it's good. Have 12V power at the panel. Ran the car in gear on jackstands, and the trans never shifted. VSS works, as it was showing speed on my Torque app. Fluid level is good. I dropped the pan and replaced the filter. Trans is never been removed from the engine, and it's a dropout from a 01 Silverado.

P0740 tcc solenoid circuit/ open
P0753 shift solenoid A electrical

I did not install the plug when the engine/trans were out of the car, and had to feel my way between the tunnel and trans to put in the plug. It snapped in tight so I thought it went in correctly. Harness is from PSI.

Is the trans in limp mode?

There is an allignment slot in the transmission connector that must line up with the molded key in the harness connector. So if you felt it push down and snap into place the harness is in the correct way. It couldn't snap in and be installed backwards. I would check to ensure you have 12 volts on pin E. If you need a pin out and schematic send me a PM and I can e-mail one to you.

Thanks,

Mark

Well guys, don't know how i did it, but the connector was in backwards. It popped out fairly easily so it must have not fully seated. I checked for power @ pine E, and it has power. I then compare the PSI harness with the old factory harness and it matched. I then found some testing procedures using ohm meter to test the solenoid so I cut off the old plug to test. Put in the old plug the way I had it, nothing on the meter. Flipped it 180* (the down arrow on the plug facing the outside), then voila, the solenoids checked out. Applied 12V and heard them clicked.

Put everything back, ran the car on jackstands and it shifted. No codes.

Thanks for the responses guys.
