So I have a mostly restored 64 skylark with 30000 miles, runs perfect all raging 200 ish horsepower. Fun ride, took a year to get paint, body, suspension, 200r4 all done so I hate to take it out of commission to try lsx swap... but I have a nearly new 5.3, headers, chevy small block frame mounts, prepped wiring harness, computer,... no radiator, fi fuel tank, motor mounts, nor accessories or brackets.

Every buick ls swap on the boards gets to the motor mounts and the owner says "since there were no good options I used my super genius intellect along with my disproportionately high skill set to engineer and handcraft a set" uuhhhhhh..... I don't think I have those.....I mean the whole skill and intellect thing....

Anyways, I waited on fi fuel tank for the best solution.... but still looks like its a freakin 600 kit to modify my existing tank right?

radiator - looks like replumb a standard one , correct?

motor mounts, not sure since its a buick, but I have the frame perches for sbc, so what is most cost effective option?

accessories and mounts, including sanderson a/c mount, junkyard plus holly?

balls, I mean I cannot find them to take my baby apart on the off chance I can figure out how to fabricate motor mounts, then whittle a set up...

also - cost effectiveness is an issue, I cannot buy a 1000 mile 5.3 then spend 2400 for cool accessory brackets....cannot do it.

So, help? any known motor mount combo for buick 5.3? most cost effective tank option? where an I find the balls and the accessory brackets for 64 a body...

thanks

Andy save yourself some grief and hop over to LS1tech. Your swap is nothing new there and you will get help. Great looking car and don't touch it until you have all the parts you need and feel comfortable. Nothing worse than having a project that does not run nor have the parts you need to finish it. Good luck bro.

I agree. LS1tech has a number of 65 Skylark swaps. Go read through those threads.

Look at Tanks Inc for your EFI swap.

we can help with the radiator when you are ready, and we can build it for an LS conversion at no additional charge.

Great looking car. This might help:

If you have Chevelle frame stands, then all you need to do is add adapter plates (there are many vendors) and use standard early Chevrolet motor mounts, either in rubber or poly.
