Ok my girlfreinds dad just bought a lot of engine parts for $300 from his junk dealer. The guy is cleaning out a house that was siezed by the local cops. The stuff we got was all brand new in the box but some of the part numbers appear to be obsolete. Amongst the items were two sets of pistons. One set from Venolia and one from Sealed Power. I have already scronged the web but turned up nothing on these. I would assume they are for a small block chevy but the compression heights work out to some very odd engine combo's.

Anyway here's what I have

From Venolia
Forged into the bottom is the number 400-sl
compression height measured to be around 1.788
Bore diameter is 4.030

which means I would need a 3" crank and would have one very high compression 306 when finished.

The sealed power are a bit odd to
Part number 2044p 030 stamped into the top
Compression height on these is 1.668

This one needs a 3.25" crank and would yeild a 331 when finished.

Other things we found out was this guy was apparently a roundy round dirt track racer. These would tend to yeild high revving dirt track motors. The lunati cam was a oval dirt track grind which is what lead me to this conclusion.

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

:dunno: Those Venolia pistons could be for a Furd combo. 351- 5.956 rod, 3.5 stroke. I think they have like a 9.5 inch deck height. I'm definetly not a Ford guy though. Try asking a machine shop.
