camaro rear disc brake adjustment

I got a rear disc brake conversion for the mopar 8 3/4 rear in my camaro from auto city classic with a built in parking brake.I got the car out for its first test drive (woop) and the brakes kind of sucked . It also pulled to the right which I figured was since the right front tire was low. but the reason it doesn't stop very good is because the rears don't grab unless I pump the brakes about 5 times.I can't figure out how to adjust the calipers and the instructions were vague. don't they self adjust when you set the parking brake?

yes but there has to be an initial adjustment and I have tried pumping the park brake like 100 times and still nothing

How loose are the pads on the rotor They look similar but not quite the same as th ratcheting 79-81 TA and Caddy calipers. Those you can us a boxed end on the accuator(what the lever bolts on) to turn it until it is tight , then put the lever on.

The problem with them even new rebuilds is often the ratchet is frozen. They shoudl ratchet tight and the lever stay up and only move back a little.

It does say that they are el dorado/trans am style.thanks though I'll try ratcheting some more

If the piston pulls back instead of staying forward as you ratchet back probably is frozen.

What would I do in the case that it was frozen?

Sometimes you can break it free by tapping (fairly hard)it on the actuator, re ratcheting hard. Or getting a new rebuilt lifetime warranty caliper at O reilley:) Then just take it in and swap them out!
