You are my hero.
Sticking the 2JZ into what we call the VG Valiant is what I would call EPIC. WIN.
Now, anything been done to the motor?
Cause it looks schweeeeet.

My buddy keeps telling me to put a 2jz in my monte. ..
I told him if he gave me one a would!
Definitely a cool car, much respect for doing something different.

Engine is essentially stock. That's kind of a misnomer as the 2JZGTE only needs boost and fuel to make more power.
My thought was to make it a good car before just making it fast. I work for Fram/Autolite/Prestone and I use my
personal car for event marketing, (My gift to my coworkers ;)), and the Scamp needs to make 1,000 mile trips at every
outing without being trailered. So let's say it's a driver. My goal is an 11.99 at the drags but really I want a great
driving car that you were just as glad to take on a trip vs. your new car. That's fairly hard to do.

Transmission is the Supra based A340LE Aisin Automatic.

As much as I like the 2JZGTE, I would suggest an LS for your car only because it's well sorted out. My buddy Clark and I swapped a GN motor into his 84' SS
and it's great but we've always said a 6 speed, LS2 or LS3 would have been cooler especially with a turbo. We also built a Fleetwood Brogham with a Police
Car suspension and a semi built GN engine that ran flat 13's. GN engines are cool but a bit dated for my current tastes.

Nice work. 2jz, never a bad choice.

Saw this are Car Craft Nationals last week in MN. I didn't get a chance to look at it as much as I would have liked though (busy weekend) I did have a chance to talk to Dave the owner, very cool guy! I can't wait to see more of the car around this year. Definitely not the run of the mill car.

Except, mags like Car Craft and Hot Rod won't ink the car, Mopar purists are mad, and well I can go on.
With our little Scamp we attempted to blend cultures while saving the car
from the crusher. Smart is Justin's build as its tested and proven architecture.

Mopar purists should be thanking you for saving the car from the crusher. Unique build, digging it.

When I get grief my reply is, "Why should the Ford and Chevy guys only get to do cool swaps?" This is a car I drive the crap out of rain or shine, bugs on it, scars on it, in traffic, in the heat, you name it! What's the point otherwise?
I appreciate your support.

Very cool build! I love it!
Don't listen to the purists, they only drive on and off a trailer. Enjoy that beauty!

I'd guess you've sent some pics in then? It's definitely a mag worthy car IMO. Don't see that caliber of build very often. Then again there was a ton of talk generated by the RB26 Mustang they built for F&F I would think it would at least be somewhat acceptable these days. Between that and everyone and their mom LS swapping stuff. If you want some ink try something like Turbo Magazine or even an import mag or two. I bet they'd be a lot more open minded to it.
Awesome build though, I think the quality of it speaks for its self. If a purist wants to complain let them. They didn't bankroll the build, not their place to complain because they have delusions of grandeur that it'd be faster with a purple cammed 360.
Is it bad I have engine envy? Always thought it'd be cool to stuff one of these into a first generation Econoline since their engine bays are designed for an L6.

I'd consider the Supra's 2JZ to be the Elephant (Hemi) of the Import world.
Makes big power.
Makes more big power.
Costs a bomb to drop in.
Looks and sounds cool.
So hardly the Small block chev persona you speak of.
Also which is why I have absolutely no problem seeing it in a Mopar. It's a big power engine, and it is like the 265 Slant 6 Hemi, makes power per cube, it just has a turbo stuck to it instead of triple webber carbs and displacement.
And it's a Six Cylinder, which is what most of the same model had here in Australia.
Slots right in there.
Just the exhaust is on the wrong side for aussie ones. hahaha
My opinion of course...

Cool build, nice to see stuff built and used. That's the fun part of this hobby...driving.

Yeah, that works. Coming from a guy who unloaded his '72 340 Scamp clone to build a Jeep motor'd Rambler wagon.

And THAT is cool as hell! I saw a Pacer with a built Jeep 4.0 and I was like let me turbo that for you! ;)
