Ive seen it mentioned a lot in discussions but i have no idea what the difference would be between a standard rear end and a full floater. Can someone help me out here?

One of the things not listed in the above link is the advantages a full floater has over a semi floater in the pro touring world.
In high g-force situations, the press-on bearing retainer can move, which moves the bearing, which moves the axle. What attaches to your axle? The brake rotor. If the brake rotor is moving... This means it's pushing against the pads. Oh, I'm sorry.. You wanted to be able to slow down for that next corner? You'll have to pump the brakes a couple times!
Although it may not be necessary in street driven cars, you may as well build it to have the capability to push it hard.. It's not much more costly to go with a floater.
