ive been looking around and have come across a ton of different ideas on what the angle should be. mine is off, as in not enough negative or down angle. i am gonna cut the DSE pads off and start over. what is the best way to set the angle and what should the angle be. should i just use an angle finder on the bottom f the yolk and go from there? any help is appreciated

Pinion angle should be equal but opposite of the trans output angle and driveline working angle should not exceed 1* but also never be zero. You need to find the trans output angle, front working angle, rear working angle, and current pinion angle to determine what to move. Your pinion may be fine; a lot of times it is the trans that is out of whack.

took some measurements today. need some input please. the measurements were taken with all 4 wheels 10 inches off the ground with ramps and jack stands. the suspension is loaded.

engine- 3* down
Front of Tranny-3* down
Front Yolk-1.5* up
Rear Yolk-1* down

what do these mean and where do i go from here. thanks

I'm not too clear on what you measured. The engine and trans should obviously be at the same angle, in fact if they are not something is terribly wrong. The trans output yoke should also match the trans angle. You have 3*down for engine/trans but 1.5*up for front yoke, can you explain this? Please post exactly where on the driveline components these measurements were taken and with what measuring device. Also post the drive angle.

lets see here. i used a angle finder that i picked up at home depot. im not sure what you mean by the drive angle but the rest are as follows

Engine was taken on the oil pan where it mates to the block
tranny was taken where it bolts to the bellhousing
front yolk was at the yolk closest to where the drive shaft goes into the tranny. i will re measure it but the tranny seems to be angled down like stated before, 3*, and where the driveshaft input is actually angles up, away from the ground.

OK, on the front and rear yokes are you measuring the driveshaft side of the ujoint or the actualy trans yoke/pinion yoke? The most acurate way to measure is to first measure the actual shaft by placing the angle finder on the tube at the 6 o'clock position, thern remove the driveline and measure the output shaft by placing angle finder on the backside of the shaft. For the pinion angle place the angle finder across the yoke where the caps bolt up measuring 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock

i was thinking about that while laying in bed last night and something didnt make sense the way i was doing it. so i just redid the rear and the rear end is up 3*ish, just did a quickie so im gonna go redo them all.
