This may sound dumb and i think I'm over thinking it. I have a sway bar set up similar to this79577 Not my truck but this is the sway bar I have it's off the rear of an s-10 blazer. My truck is a 69 ford f-100 with the axle on top of the springs 9" rear with the pumpkin offset. I had the sway bar mounted like in the picture but I was worried when the suspension went up the curve in the bar near the jack would hit the rear. At this point I have way too many hours looking at it. So I cut the tac welds and moved the mounts on the axle to under the axle instead of on the back. Now if move the free end of the sway bar I can move it in an arc 6" higher than level, before the bar touches the rear.
Am I confused? does the bar actually rotate or do the ends just twist and the center pretty much stay stationary? I even tried going forward with the bar it but clearance on the front was worse. Then I might have room for tail pipes.
Last question on the sway bar end link would it work ok if I went with this style 79578 it would allow the bar to pivot and the top would bolt to the frame. If not I could make the s-10 style work would just be more work. Thanks for any help, been messing with this for two days now.
