I'm in Syracuse NY and discovered today I broke the end link on my Art Morrison subframe on the autocross. The main bolt sheared off and the main/top part of the bolt disappeared. I suspect it may have broken at the track but come out on the freeway/street. I've been having trouble tuning the front suspension this weekend and this might explain why although I'm unsure when it took place. It does explain why my front shock settings were not producing the results I was expecting.

1 - Does anyone have an idea if these AM sway bar links come off another OEM setup that I can find at a parts store?

2 - I did manage to locate an Energy Suspension sway bar link kit that will work all except for the main bolt which uses a coarse thread and will not attach to the lower link (fine thread). The AM bolt is 3/8-24 and 4.5" long. I found a grade 5 bolt at Lowes but only 3" long. If anyone happens to know where I can locate such a bolt on a weekend - I'm all ears.

Any ideas appreciated.

If you were in San Diego, I know of an awesome hardware store....

Thanks Rob, I did exactly that today at the show but unfortunately nothing doing that would fit.

I looked around but couldn't find any of the other suspension guys usually at the shows. Different crowd.

At worst I have a lead on two separate, local fastener stores which will be open Monday. I would REALLY like to run tomorrow because the track is fun, we are getting tons and tons of runs plus I really need this no-pressure dial-in time before MotorState next week.

My AM sub has two rod ends that screw into a double female tube. It has 3/8" bolts to bolt the heims into the sway bar and A arm. It sounds like yours is different. Is it like a stock camaro?

Thanks Dave. Very similar but my bar attaches using a vertical (pin?) style, yes like the original GM bar. The bottom of mine mounts identical to yours using that 90deg mounted female Heim. The top half was easy to replace at the parts store with an Energy Suspension kit but the thread on the main fastener is coarse, unlike that lower female Heim.

The included bolt is also way too long so now I'm wondering if I just cut and thread it myself? Can I put a thread on that plated steel the bolt is made from?

Yes, you could cut & thread a bolt if you can't find a fine thread one. Hardware stores don't stock much in fine thread, but you might find one. Use a grade 8 bolt.
