Ok guys I just bought a 99 complete Lq4 engine out of a 4X4 truck. I also have the stock computer that came in the truck. Being this was a 4x4 will I be able to use the computer? I would think I could but want to be sure. Also I want to buy a 4l80e. Will this computer control the transmission or do I need and aftermarket controller? Will I need to change the oil pan for a 67 Camaro?

I'm new to the LS stuff always been a BBC guy so cut me a little slack if you would please. Thanks for any suggestions and help.

Yea you will need a new oil pan. The truck pans hang down low.

You will definitely need a new oil pan as it will not clear the steering linkage. Your computer will control the 4L80e too. I also have a 67 camaro with 2007 lq4 and 4L80e trans. I bit the bullet and purchased the autokraft pan.

For my 68' I went with a Mast oil pan kit (from Matt's Classic Bowtie) and the fit was great
Plenty clearance for the steering linkage ( stock linkage with Lee Mfg. 600 series 12.7:1 box)
Went with Dirty Dingo adjustable slider engine plates on small block frame stands

Oh yeah, if it makes you feel any better? I pulled a 69' 427 and 700R4 out of my 68' Camaro for the 6.0L w/ LS3 topend and a built T56 trans!

Couldn't be happier!!
