Can anybody give me some instructions as to the process of installing the front and rear window molding onto a 1st gen camaro?
I have all new clips, just not sure how exactly the clips are installed and how the trim snaps onto the clips.
Thanks!

I just did this job and its a bit tedious; mostly because of not wanting to damage new paint. There should be studs around the window sides, bottom, and top. If your quarters were replaced then you should have installed or had studs installed again due to the new metal. The clips I had from steves camaros are red. These were supposedly the "best" on the market. You should see a hole in the clip. This hole goes over the stud. Then you adjust the clip on the stud (left or right) so when the trim is installed it is flush with the body. Once adjusted for height, I used some trim tools (ice pick) to pull the clip out (towards center of glass) just a tiny bit so as to accept the trim lip easier when installing. (they are very stiff new and this makes it easier to install). You will hear the trim "snap" on when it passes the clip. I would recommend painters tape on the body around window for protection, and plenty of light and take your time. I cant stress enought to take your time and walk away if you get flustered and come back after a beverage of choice. Cheers.

Yes make sure you put plenty of masking tape to avoid damaging the new paint. My new paint got damaged because the stupid guy who was installing the new moldings did not bother to put any tape around the window area, so he ended up damaging the damn paint which really pissed me off. Now he has to removing the stupid moldings again to fix the paint on those areas. In fact, there are so many areas where paint got damaged and cipped becuase of his stupidy and carelessness:banghead:

Best clips I have found are sold by Steves Camaro Parts. Cheap offshore clips don't work.

the new clips are made alot better. Look at the teeth on them where the clip grabs the studs. Bigger area to so the molding clips on the clip

I had 3 back trim pieces that were loose, drivers side front piece and the front upper piece. I installed the clips which work on the front and back since they are the same and talk about a huge huge difference. The trim pieces snap right on and are solid.
