Bought my fathers 66 Barracuda, 273 commando, factory ac. pretty simple really, I want to put better brakes, better lights, bigger wheels, and black the whole car out.
This is what I started with......

Nice rendering. Love the black out look. Flat blacked mine just so it didn't look like a stick poncho

Absolutely do it! that rendering looks amazing. Possibly run HID headlight with a slight dark tint on them for effect. THE HID's should compensate for the light tinting. Try and fins some American Racing TQ Thrust II's in the REV series. They Make a 17 X 8" wheel with 4.75 BS that should fit under the rear without much issues. Also make a 17 X 7" for the front with 4.5 BS. Not sure on the small Mopar lug pattern though. early Mopar are 5 X 4.25" ??

Early Mopars have the dreaded 5x4 small bolt pattern wheels. I went for the Ford 8.8 setup in mine to get limited slip, disc brakes and a 5x4.5 bolt pattern on the cheap. The new Wilwood kits are a great way to use your drum spindles but convert to 5x4.5 reasonably up front...

If he has 9" drums I highly recommend newer disc spindles. Those older drum spindles are super "spindley" lol!

looking great!!

how dark of tint did you go with?

and are you leaving it the 273 commando? are you parting with the original valve covers?

and is that vinyl on the hood and sides, or plasti-dip, or paint, or...

273 will stay in for this year, while i build the 340. hadnt given much thought to the valve covers. Yes, its vinyl on the hood and sides. trim is plasti-dip.

So far this year I have added 4 wheel power disc brake kit in place of the 4 wheel manual drums, and some new wheels, 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear. Have the 340 torn apart awaiting a forged crank/pistons. New 4 core aluminum radiator going in this weekend. here is a couple pics of new stuff...

I know that huge back glass is distinctly 1st gen Cuda, but I've always wondered how they would look with a smaller window, like the 2nd gens.

Cool ride. How hard is it going to be to get it looking more like the rendering as far as ride height goes? I miss mine, it was my first official car... Mine was blue! That thing would roast that one tire like crazy.

Added some custom hood work this past year. Complete paint along with HDK front suspension and street lynx 4 link for out back are the additions coming this summer.

Tore the car all the way down and completely going through it. Doing through body exhaust, relocate fuel filler, kindig handles, shaved bumper bolts, blinkers, all trim and most emblems. Tucking bumpers, and added recessed fogs in bumper. Here are some progress pics.
