Hi! I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and join. I drove in my first autocross at the Goodguys Columbus Nationals over the weekend and had a blast! I can't wait to do it again. I think I did OK considering I was driving a stock suspended vehicle with tall tires on it, I scared the wife so I must have been going fast enough. I was driving my 1959 Ford Custom 300, that's right, a '59 Ford. Its got a 302 with aluminum heads, a Ford Racing "F" cam and an Edelbrock 600 carb backed by a Tremec T-5 with a 3.50 gear. There are some suspension mods in the future and some shorter sidewalls, but I think power steering with a little quicker ratio would help a bunch. She also sits a little high so I'll fix that too. Anyway, I had a ball, met some cool guys, saw some way cool cars, had the car weighed and talked to some vendors. As the cash trickles in the mods will happen, for right now I'm just having a ball and learning. Here's a photo so you'll know the car when you see it. You know, because of all the other autocrossing late 50's full size Fords out there:

That's very cool--your car makes a Falcon look more normal, Camaro-like, even... Keep at it!
