Hey guys, new to the site. I just bought a 1971 buick skylark 5 days ago and the last two days when I went to start it in the morning it starts right up and dies a second later. This goes on for about 6 more times then finally. It starts up and keeps its power. What could be wrong?

I would start with checking the choke. Mine will close even in the summer for about the first 2-3 minutes of running. If the choke is functioning you may have a fuel evaporation problem, and it is taking just a bit to get them filled back to normal levels.

Actually first look at timing and carb/choke operation. Also dont forget to look over ignition secondary too.
Generally that type of complaint is from either too little choke closing OR too little vacuum break after it starts. seem to dial in a lot of carb anc choke systems as few people do them anymore around my area.
