I'm having trouble posting the results (partially because of the size, I think), so just click here (http://www.derekf.com/images/08240502.jpg) for my dyno results. I feel pretty good about the results, mainly because they happened on the dyno and not on city streets.

For those of you scared to click random links or who don't really care to see, the image above is my twisted and bent driveshaft. It appears that the front u-joint gave way at 4600rpm or so (roughly 120mph said the readout) during the first pull - which is definitely better than it happening at 120 on the highway, not that I'd go that fast anymore. The actual dyno scan can be found here (http://www.derekf.com/images/dynorun.jpg) for those who want to make fun of my poor pitiful 396. I knew it was way low on power before I went up there so any fun you can poke is just fine.

Anyone local got a spare A-body driveshaft that they don't want? I'd happily trade my bent one for it.

What tranny do you have in your El Camino?

Currently a 396/TH350. Soon to be an LS1/T56.

That's a 396 imitating a lowly 305......

You'll love the LS1. I await the pics and stories.....

Allen, you're probably right, although I think if they'd been able to start the pull at a lower RPM they'd have seen even more torque.

Sigh. This was supposed to be a baseline before pulling the engine and with the exception of cutting the pull short, it accomplished what it was supposed to do. Why do I want to put new u-joints in the Chevelle's driveshaft, and if it fits the Camino then go try again?

Derek,

You'll be looking at about a 200rwhp increase with your Cammed, bolt on ls1! Depending on how big the cam is, probably well over 200rwhp increase.
