Seeing what you guys think about any additional reinforcement needed when you c-notch a frame. It’s a 2004 ram 1500 2wd that’s already got the front down 2 inches thanks to spindles. It’s my daily driver and want it lower so it will not try to step out as much when cornering (I know, its still a truck). I've got a kit from stylin trucks that bolts to one side of the frame after cutting but think it will be flimsy. Still want to use it as a truck without worrying. Any suggestions???????

I never used a bolt in kit myself as I preferred to weld them in, but people I knew never complained about them.

I keep going back and forth on this weather to notch my frame or not I have 2" of suspension travel now. What worries me is getting the strength back in the frame. check out this link starting on like #8

What model notch did you get from Stylin?

I welded my bolt-in Belltech notch.
Here's a shot of it. I rosette welded the bolt holes and then down the sides.

Super C's are pretty popular for the pick-up crowd, the guys I've seen use them, they weld them in and box the inner frame rails. These are also very easy to make if you have the means to.

Hey looks like you are running a slam air from air lift company? We put one in my friend's ss but he is not lowered was just the standard kit for towing. Are you using it for loads or does it help bottoming out on rough roads.

Think when I do my notch I'm going to do something like the super c to restore my frame height I'll have to come up through the bed floor my ford doesn't have the room between the bed and the frame like the chevys.

I don't remember which brand, slam air or firestone.
I used it for loads as well as leveling out my ride until I put my spindles on :)
I no longer have that ride :(

Here is how I did mine. C-notched it with some 1/4" wall pipe, boxed the backside, welded everything.
