Hey guys. Been a lurker for awhile, but I figured it was about time for me to actually join as my 71 Camaro is finally getting ready to be worked on. All my past projects have been more cosmetic restorations with mild performance modifications. This Camaro will be my first full on pro-touring build.

Quick history: been into cars my whole life. My dad was parting out a 74 Camaro when I was 13, let me have at the tools to take it apart, and I've been at it ever since! I graduated ASU 2 years ago with a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering and currently design blast attenuating seats for the military. I had hoped I'd been in the automotive field, but that's why it's a hobby. Anyways, my dad and I have been building cars for years. I'll do a quick rundown of our last projects after my Camaro.

Here's my current project, in all it's glory! But truthfully, I honestly like to find basket cases and rough projects and turn them into show winners. I like the challenge of taking a neglected, forgotten relic and turning it into my own form of art. This particular shell I got for $100 and is actually 100% rust free. I've tracked down all OE bolt on sheetmetal that although it looks bad, is all solid. I want this to be my "ultimate" car. I want to be able to drive it to the other coast comfortably at 25mpg and race it, and win shows. LS1/T-56 at least, and the full suspension treatment. I'll start with bushings up front and leafs as I work on it till I figure out what I can afford and what works best as I'm still a limited budget. DSE minitubs are the first task. I might do a 1" widebody to give it a slightly aggressive appearance, though not to wild. I want to build my own dash/console and door panels as I learned how picky the original stuff is. I also want to restyle a few things like keep the front standard bumper, but change out the park lights, as well as drop the rear license plate below the bumper, and just some tasteful mods.

This is the latest one we've finished. It's a ground up restoration of a Michigan car that needed all removable sheetmetal replaced, and some patchwork on the 1/4's. Original SS 350 car, we put the 454/TH400 combo in. Paint is Cyber Gray Metallic on the sides/roof, and stripes, black on the hood/trunk. Interior is TMI, the first full Chevelle set made as they had to make the rear seat the week before the show I was shooting for. Pypes exhaust, Boss Motorsports 338's, and a lot of other things. This is the biggest build we've done, and it paid off as we won the Goodguy's Chevy Muscle Pick at the Del Mar show this year.
