all,

long time lurker, but just now getting around to registering. I have 2 Fords:

a 1966 Galaxie 7 Litre Convertible:
http://www.cs.odu.edu/~mln/galaxie/

and a 1966 Fairlane (not a proper site yet):
http://www.cs.odu.edu/~mln/fairlane/delivery/

the convertible is mostly stock and is a great low speed cruiser. at 2+ tons, its not
fast off the line, but quite lively on the interstate. but to be honsest, convertibles
are more fun at 20 mph than they are at 70 mph.

I promised my wife that I would keep the Galaxie (mostly) stock, so that gave me
license to buy the Fairlane. It has impeccable muscle car credentials (427 side oiler,
2x4 600s, toploader, 9" 4.30 rear (N case), electric fuel pump, aluminum drive shaft, etc.).
But it sits way too high, has 15" wheels, 4 wheel drum brakes, etc. This is the car
destined for a PT treatment. More in future posts....

Cool! I like your cars--and your thinking: A "couch" and a P-T car. Every household should have one of each. I have a 68 Camaro and a bone stock 65 Riviera. Having the Riv to putt around in afforded me the opportunity to make the Camaro more radical. A 427 Side Oiler definitely fits into the radical category. I like the 15's Keep 'em if you can finnd brakes that fit.

Welcome to the club
