| This Front Runner system from Vintage Air is so slick I just had to share it with everyone. I will try and point out some of the key install points so you can see how easy it is to install and well designed it is. | |

Above is how the system looks when complete. I needed a pulley / accessory system that was small and narrow enough to clear the turbos on my 68 Camaro. This fit the bill perfectly. The system comes complete with every nut and bolt less the power steering pump. One phone call to Detroit Speed & Engineering is all it takes to get the right pump for you. DSE sells steel or aluminum pumps both with and without reservoirs. I ordered the aluminum pump with an integral reservoir. I did this to help clean up the engine compartment and the fact that I may add a PS pump cooler in the future. |

To the left is a GM style 140 amp alternator built by Power Master. Check out the tag. It puts out 95 amps at idle! My last alternator didn't do that at 6,000 rpm. |

| The first thing I needed to do was to clean up the front of my engine. I new coat of Chevy Orange was in order. |

One of the first things that struck me was the attention to detail on the machining. Believe me when I say this was well made. For a living I am the shop manager in a multi-million dollar Aerospace machine shop. We make parts for Laser Cannons, Space Shuttles, Satellites, The International Space Station, battle tanks and so on. The machine work, deburring and plating is top notch. | ||
| Here I am starting to mock things up and orientate the heater hose fitting. The fitting is not included in the kit. They don't know if you plan to run rubber hose or a braided line. I chose to use a Earls 824510 swivel -10 hose end with a 1/2" male pipe thread on a 45 degree angle. You need to make sure you orientate the hex on the pipe thread exactly as seen here in order to fit. You can get the fittings from Hawaii Racing where I got mine. 805-583-8880 ask for Basset or, you can get it at most performance parts suppliers. |
