      Help!!!!!!!

I am trying to fit wider tires under my dodge but the springs limit space Does anyone out there know if there is a simple bolt on kit to move the springs to the inside of the frame on a 68 dodge dart 340 gt? Is this considered a mini tub.

Mini-tubbing is the physical widening of the inner fender well. You might see if you can adapt some offset shackles to your car. Don't know much about them so I am limited to my help.

From what i have been told about my car it is rare and especially rare with only 21,000 original miles on it so i do not really want to do any cutting or tubbing. I wish i had the knowledge to adapt an offset shackle, but wouldnt this require some cutting?

      Billy,
Mopar Perfomance makes a kit that allows the leaf springs to be moved 3 inches inboard. This plus wheels w/ the right offset could allow some fatter skins under those wheelwells. The kit says "welding is required," but with some creative work you could prolly set this up so the car can be returned to stock if need be. Here is a link to the relocation kit:

      Good luck!

How do the factory frame rails sit ing the car would help me alot. Straight or tapered? If tapered, narrow at the front or back. If it is narrow at the front you could use something like this :

Measure across the car from spring to spring, do this at the front ends of the springs and at the rear ends. Another way do check is to measure from the tire sidewall to the spring leaf front and rear sidewalls of the tire. Relocating the rear shackle inward requires moving the spring perch on the axle tube aprox half as much as the rear shackle is moved.

And on a personal note, lol

I absolutely friggin' LOVE the body style of those box Darts! There are a couple around here that have been "pro streeted," and gawd, they look awesomenastywicked with some Mickey T's tucked inside the wheelwells! Seeing one made into a G machine would be waaaaaaaay cool as well!!!!

When i get the new paint on it i will post some pics. My plan is to put the M T's ripples on if i can gain the clearance without cutting. with the mickey's on im hoping to go VERTICAL!!!!!! If not back to the drawing board.
